Cheech's stash & Cheech and Chong's Cannabis company announce partnership with Last Prisoner Project (LPP)
LAST PRISONER PROJECT
Cheech's Stash, Tommy Chong’s Cannabis, and Eighth Icon Holdings announced support of Last Prisoner Project (LPP) as ambassadors for the nonprofit organization dedicated to clemency and expungement, re-entry programs and advocacy for individuals with cannabis convictions. Cheech and Tommy will proudly join the group of those committed to bringing restorative justice to the cannabis industry.
ABOUT LAST PRISONER PROJECT
The Last Prisoner Project (LPP) is a coalition of cannabis industry leaders, executives and artists dedicated to bringing restorative justice to the cannabis industry by helping to bring the release of cannabis prisoners and helping them rebuild their lives. As the United States moves away from the criminalization of cannabis, giving rise to a major new industry, there remains the fundamental injustice inflicted upon those who have suffered criminal convictions and the consequences of those convictions. Through intervention, advocacy and awareness campaigns, the forces behind the Last Prisoner Project will work to redress the past and continuing harms of these unjust laws and policies and are dedicated to making sure that every last victimless cannabis prisoner walks free.
ABOUT CHEECH’S STASH
Cheech Marin, famously known for embodying half of hilariously irreverent stoner comedy duo Cheech & Chong, knows a thing or two about cannabis. Which is why he thought it only fair to develop his own personal brand of sustainably produced all-natural cannabis. Cheech's participation in the cannabis business marks a major milestone for the longtime advocate and global counterculture icon who says he remains dedicated to his vision of "sharing the love, experience, and understanding of cannabis", and is looking forward to shaping the future of the adult-use market responsibly. Cheech says, “We are excited to support LPP as they work towards assisting in bringing the important goal of restorative justice for so many that do not have the means to do so on their own”.
